An Argumentative Essay Topic Called Call of the Wild by Ted Chiang

An Argumentative Essay Topic Called Call of the Wild by Ted ChiangArgumentative essay topics call of the wild is an American novel written by Ted Chiang. It's a weird, far out ride about an alien from another planet who becomes trapped on Earth with humans. This isn't your typical book but it is one of the more interesting sci-fi books I've read recently.Earth is inhabited by intelligent creatures known as sapient. These creatures are larger than humans and they have a life span that surpasses human life spans. The first sapient aliens came to Earth during the Pleistocene Epoch that occurred five million years ago.Intelligent beings populated the earth in the form of whales, dolphin, and penguins. They were warm-blooded and mostly nocturnal. When the ice age came around and closed off much of North America, the species became confined to specific areas of the world including Antarctica.Parable came along just as things were getting tough for these species. Parable is a story that is told to illustrate a certain point about a story. In this case, parable helps to illustrate the need for intelligent beings to interact with other sapient beings. The story of the parable is a polemic about this issue, being told by a man named Vanish from a village in Ethiopia. The aliens, due to their past contact with humans, get very sensitive to human society. They like human cities and human society. If an environment lacks advanced communication systems they are very sensitive to human activities. Even when a primitive social system is introduced to them, the aliens are slow to adapt to it.What makes this novel so interesting is the way it portrays a dangerous yet fascinating world. Chiang presents us with a world populated by intelligent alien beings whose response to the presence of humans is, as you might expect, to get a little off track. Some might even call this a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. This will have, of course, a large impact on the plot of the novel. The al iens have established a small group of humans that they invite to their planet. They are allowed to build ships in order to travel through space and come back to visit. When humans arrive they are captured and imprisoned in a huge fortress with very little food and water. As things progress these humans try to fight back. The humans end up being assimilated into the alien culture and for the most part are similar to the sapient aliens in their lifestyle and behavior. Chiang also offers up a good set of characters that will add a flavor to the novel. The conflict in the novel, between the humans and the aliens, is well presented and brings about some good suspense and action.
